Prior to founding Take Place, Clayton led Design-Built, an award-winning practice he founded in 2005 that was renowned for its approach to building some of the most well-designed and comprehensively detailed homes in the industry.

With a hands-on process from design all the way through every phase of construction, Design-Built ran a full production shop alongside and in support of its design projects.  Throughout his 20+ years in the industry, Clayton has seen firsthand the industry's inefficiencies, kickstarting the development of the take place system.
